Why Accent Coaching?
I was born and raised in the Midwest, surrounded by the rhythm, tone, and flow of the General American accent. But at home, it was different.
My parents are first-generation immigrants – and English is their second language.
I watched them navigate life in a country where your accent can change how people see you. I saw the way their pronunciation led to awkward moments, misunderstandings, and unfair judgments.
They had to work twice as hard to be taken seriously.
They were constantly overlooked in professional settings – even when they were the most qualified in the room.
That stuck with me.
It also shaped my mission.
The Turning Point
As an English teacher, I’ve worked with over 6,700 non-native speakers from all over the world.
And time after time, I saw the same pattern:
